Located at Calle 66 and 47 in the wonderful Santa Ana neighborhood, Los Cielos is the perfect vacation home for visitors to Merida - you will spend your time here feeling at home and being close to everything you want to see: restaurants, parks, shopping, museums and galleries. Not to be overlooked is that street parking is allowed.
Los Cielos is just three blocks west of Santa Ana Square, one of Merida’s oldest and most enjoyable parks. Every day there are food vendors and a meat and vegetable market. The square also includes a great pastry shop (we go there all the time to pick up breakfast). One block beyond the market is the start of the famous Paseo Montejo. The center of town, the Plaza Grande, is an easy 15 minute stroll. The English Library is about 250 yards away. Santiago Park is less than 10 minutes.
Los Cielos is an exquisitely updated home with all modern comforts. Skylights throughout bathe the home with light giving it an open and airy feeling. The home has two bedrooms. Both have queen sized beds and remote control air conditioning units. Spacious polished concrete built-in closets provide ample storage space. The master bedroom opens to a covered back outdoor terrace with views down into the garden with pool. The front of the bedroom opens to an enclosed area that leads to a front roof top balcony overlooking the city with great views of the sunset. The master bathroom has a wonderful shower area, which opens to the same enclosed area. The unique open cocina (kitchen) has polished concrete counters and a fantastic center island. It is equipped with everything you will need to prepare simple meals at home. The back garden, with its covered sitting area and pool provides a relaxing and tranquil retreat. The small storage building at the rear of the garden houses the washer and dryer.
Los Cielos is designed for indoor/outdoor living, which is one of the most enjoyable aspects of spending time in the Yucatan. Spend your vacation enjoying many wonderful attractions, all less than a day away, and return every day to this beautiful home in the center of all that Merida has to offer. Any week of the year, there will be multiple events in theatre, dance or music to entertain you. Art galleries, museums, shopping and a variety of restaurants are just a few blocks away or a few minutes by taxi.
