About Us

Ruben Ballote, owner of Yucatan Property Management, was born and raised in the centro historico of Merida, Yucatan in Mexico. When he was only seven years old, he showed an interest in learning English, and was sent by his parents to private language schools here in town. He has lived the majority of his life in the same house in the Santa Ana district of downtown Merida, and has seen the many changes that the city has gone through over the years.

After college and working in Merida for awhile, Ruben traveled to and worked in the United States. He lived for one year in Miami and for four years in Minneapolis, working in the travel industry. When he returned to Merida in 2001, Ruben worked in the travel department of the local American Express office. He has years of experience in understanding what travelers need to feel comfortable and to enjoy their vacation.

For the past five years, Ruben has been working in property management, building a loyal following as a result of his patient and competent services to homeowners, as well as home buyers and sellers, in the Merida area. He has gathered a team of service providers who work for him, providing quality service in gardening, plumbing, cleaning and more.
